The fact that I (as well as thousands of other professionals) worked for  years without Internet, added to 12 years' experience as In-House Translator, helped me to consolidate my interest in a "generalist" approach to the English language. Willing or not, English is as a world language. And a language that various non-English speaking countries, even distinct regions, have created an "English of their own". Hence, being a non-specialist was a strength for all the parties involved in the translation process, including myself.
